Day 23
Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, Utah
Departed about 9:30 AM and headed south on 89. Crossed the Utah border into AZ, arriving in Page AZ elevation 4,000’.
We crossed the very high Glen Canyon bridge and dam over the Colorado River...
and checked into the Page Elks Lodge. Once again, very basic but it worked great for us.
While in Page, Emily and our friend Mary suggested we check out Horseshoe Bend. It's a horseshoe shaped meander of the Colorado River around a sandstone rock formation. This view is about a mile walk from the parking area and the red sandstone is lovely at sunset.
Bird calls heard today: California Scrub-Jay, White-crowned Sparrow
